Set on a dramatically picturesque private beach on Mahe island in the Seychelles is the gorgeous contemporary boutique hotel, Carana Beach. Comprising of 28 Ocean View Rooms and 12 Ocean View Pool Chalets, Carana Beach is setting the standard for a new wave of affordable luxury hotels in the Seychelles. Designed to accentuate its unique location, Carana Beach Hotel is the perfect hideaway for anyone looking to uncover the true island experience.

Top Tips

1. All the 40 chalets of Carana Beach Hotel offer spectacular sea views. That being said, you may want to request different chalets based on your specific needs. While chalets 26 to 38 are said to be almost right on the beach, chalets with lower numbers (1 to 20) are further away from the main areas and thus offer a quieter surrounding.

2. Regardless of which chalet number you request, you are going to be wowed not just by the views but by the world class in-room amenities. That said, if you’re looking to add an extra layer of luxury to your trip, we recommend splashing a bit more cash and booking one the the Ocean View Pool Chalets. As the name would suggest, these chalets are equipped with your very own private infinity pool.

3. While the hotel’s private beach is both secluded and absolutely breathtaking, it is not protected by the reefs, making the waves too large for safe swimming. Don’t despair however, as Carana Beach Hotel is only 8 kilometres away from Mahe’s best swimming beach, Beau Vallon.

4. While it will be tempting to spend your entire holidays with your toes in the sands of Carana Beach, we recommend exploring all Mahe has to offer. To make the most of the island, hire a car as most of Mahe’s main attractions and famous beaches are upwards of 6 kilometres away.

5. If you’re looking for more authentic culinary fare during your stay at Carana Beach, we recommend heading into the town of Victoria and visiting Victoria Market. Not only will you get a feel for local life by exploring the lower level of the market, you’ll also get the chance to taste local cuisine by visiting the restaurant upstairs famous to visitors and locals alike.

Since my first flight at 8 months of age, I've travelled extensively through Europe, Asia, the South Pacific and part of North America. Some of the highlights were sleeping under the stars in the Wahiba Sands in Oman, snorkelling the Great Barrier Reef, walking on the Great Wall of China, climbing the Eiffel Tower, cruising from St Petersburg to Moscow, eating streetfood in Penang, exploring the Rocky Mountains in Canada and hanging loose in Hawaii.

I currently spend all my time putting together epic life-changing mastermind retreats or meticulously planning Luxury Tailor-made holidays around the world.
