Scattered across the private shores of Kaafu Island in South Male Atoll, Maldives, COMO Cocoa Island offers a total escape from everyday life with its minimalist luxurious style and its soft and discreet service. With 33 rooms all equipped with private terraces that allow you to slip into the warm Maldivian sea, right from your room, we wouldn’t blame you for never wanting to leave.

Top Tips
• All the rooms of COMO Cocoa Island are individual at-sea suites that branch off a wooden pier, with private sundecks, vintage-style ceiling fans, walk-in showers and roll-top bathtubs. Previous guests have raved about the overwater suites; saying that you’ll love whichever one you choose. We recommend booking either one of the split-level Dhoni Loft Suites or the one-bedroom Villas, with dining bales and outdoor showers. Guests have recommended Villa 1001 or 1003, as they face away from Cocoa Island and have the best straight-to-snorkelling sea access. Pro tip: if you’d like more privacy, pick a room with a higher number.
• If you are travelling with children, it is worth noting that COMO Cocoa Island does have a more relaxed, honeymoon vibe to it. That being said, however, all children are welcome to stay at an additional cost (4–12 year olds cost US$55 a night; 13–16, US$110 a night) and tots under 3 get to stay free. Keep in mind, you'll have to pay US$8 tax a day for each child. It’s also worth noting that babysitting services are available at US$10 per hour.
• Cocoa Island is a private island with only one resort on it, so you’re only options for food and drink are the bars and restaurants in the COMO resort. The resort’s main restaurant, Ufaa, offers a daily-changing menu of fresh-from-the-sea, plucked-from-the-branch goodness, and the poolside bar, Faru, serves up lethally tasty fruit punches or ginger mojitos. If you don’t feel like leaving your room, however, all the food and drinks from the resort’s restaurants and bars can be ordered through room service.
• Diving is definitely the main attraction at COMO Cocoa Island. Not only can you slip straight into the ocean and check out the parrotfish-patrolled waters straight from your room, you can also borrow free snorkelling gear or learn to dive at the PADI dive centre. The Maldives is home to some of the world's most spectacular scuba diving – including at the Cocoa Thila site, which just so happens to be right behind the resort.
• The Como Shambhala Retreat spa is a destination all on its own. The spa offers tempting treatments in its spa suites or, for extra opulence, in the privacy of your room. The focus here is on holistic and Ayurvedic therapy. Make sure to treat yourself during your stay and book in for a 'wellness path' course of treatments.

With close to 10 years in the travel industry, it's safe to say that I'm a travel addict.

Since my first flight at 8 months of age, I've travelled extensively through Europe, Asia, the South Pacific and part of North America. Some of the highlights were sleeping under the stars in the Wahiba Sands in Oman, snorkelling the Great Barrier Reef, walking on the Great Wall of China, climbing the Eiffel Tower, cruising from St Petersburg to Moscow, eating streetfood in Penang, exploring the Rocky Mountains in Canada and hanging loose in Hawaii.

I currently spend all my time putting together epic life-changing mastermind retreats or meticulously planning Luxury Tailor-made holidays around the world.
