Arguably one of the best hotels in the world, Jade Mountain in St. Lucia truly is in a league of it’s own. High up on a hillside within the jungly 600-acre Anse Chastanet estate, Jade Mountain’s futuristic buildings bask in astonishing views of the Pitons and the ocean. Wanting there to be literally no barrier between it’s guests and nature, the villas of Jade Mountain have no fourth wall, thus opening your world to the most amazing views you’ll ever see. And with a team of butlers at your beck and call, you’ll truly feel like the king of the hill.
Top Tips
• Offering 29 spectacular suites, each with an enormous and airy open-plan space (with the bathroom (including the loo) integrated within the single room) and unbelievable views, you really can’t go wrong at Jade Mountain. That being said, previous guests have recommended increasing your budget and opting for the infinity pool room for optimal jaw-dropping views. If your purse strings are a little too tight however, the five cheapest rooms – called Sky Jacuzzi Suites – have a large whirlpool bath (big enough for two) in place of an infinity pool. It is worth noting that all the rooms are intentionally techno-lite, with no televisions or radios, though they do have Wifi. Pro tip: if you want to watch any kind of entertainment during your stay, make sure to bring a tablet or laptop.
• If you’re planning on travelling as a family with children, it is worth noting that the resort is strictly adult-only. That being said, young adults aged 18 years or older are more than welcome to stay at Jade Mountain.
• Wanting to make all their guests feel like absolute royalty, guests are given round-the-clock access to a set of butlers who will see to their every need. Guests are even provided with a mobile phone at check in to get hold them at any time. That being said, the butlers seem to be able to anticipate your every need and are more than happy to do whatever it takes to ensure a luxuriously comfortable stay. Pro tip: room service is an integral part of the Jade Mountain experience, so make sure to have some (or all) of your meals served in your room (or Sanctuary as their referred to in-house).
• Part of the 600-acre estate that Jade Mountain is built on is two beautiful, natural, soft sand beaches. Additionally, there is an abundance of pristine coral reefs virtually surrounding the estate. Make the most of these natural wonders during your stay with the plethora of water-based activities you can partake in. These include scuba diving, snorkelling, kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding. If you wish to explore further, The Jade Mountain concierge is available at all times to arrange day excursions for you.
• For guests looking to re-centre themselves during their stay, it is worth keeping in mind that complimentary yoga classes are available at Jade Mountain in addition to the private yoga lessons that can also be arranged. To up the wellness ante, we suggest punctuating your yoga lesson with one of the many spa treatments available to be enjoyed in the privacy of your infinity pool sanctuary or in Jade Mountains’ boutique St. Lucia spa.
