When you arrive, you feel like you are in a winter paradise in the most remote part of the world. The smell of the forest is all around you. The world famous Glass Igoos, Chalets and Kelo-Glass Igloos are a stunning place to experience one of the most amazing natural phenomena: The Aurora Borealis.
Top 5 tips:
1. Pick the West Village over the East Village, it's newer and has better facilities.
2. Bring snacks! Breakfast and dinner are generally included, but bring your own food for lunch. There aren't any shops close-by (part of why you go there) so come prepared. If you are in a Kelo-Glass igloo, then you'll have your own little kitchenette.
3. Book a Kelo-Glass Igloo. Half wood cabin, half glass dome, you get the best of both worlds. Seriously, it's worth it!
4. Stay for a few nights at least. There isn't a huge amount to do, but if you're coming here it's because you want to see the Northern Lights. If it's overcast when you're there, you probably won't see them, so increase your chances by spending more time in the area.
5. Go during Winter. You'll be freezing cold, but it's when the resort is at it's prettiest. Incidentally, it's also the only time of year you can see the Northern Lights.
