If you’re looking for an island getaway but want to stay away from the beaten path, Nay Palas Hideaway on General Luna in the Siargao Island Region of the Philippines may be the paradise you’ve been waiting for. Run with a philosophy of barefoot luxury, Nay Palad Hideaway offers its guests an intimate, indulgent retreat of just twelve eco-friendly villas where they can live their tropical island dreams at the edge of the Pacific Ocean. To top off all the luxury on offer, everything from the sea-fresh cuisine to indulgent massages and island excursions, is included in your stay.

Top Tips

• A stay at Nay Palad Hideaway is not for those looking to tighten their purse strings. While the price is significantly higher than a lot of island resorts, the rates include all meals and select drinks (cocktails, spirits, beer, juices and select wines), excursions to nearby islands, non-motorised water sports, cooking lessons, massages, yoga classes, laundry and overland airport transfers from Siargao airport. So it’s safe to say that the experience is well worth the price.

• With only 12 stunning villas and a sprawling Master villa that are all equally luxurious and well appointed, your choice of accommodation really just relies on how close to the main areas you want to be. Previous guests have mentioned that Villa 9 is the furthest from the communal areas so it would offer more privacy if that is what you’re after. For those looking for more space the Master Villa acts as a hideaway within a hideaway and comes with its own swimming pool, rooftop nest, secluded beach and much more. If you want unmatched views of the ocean, then we recommend booking one of the Deluxe Ocean View Villas.

• At Nay Palad Hideaway, guests are welcome to make themselves right at home. This means that they have the freedom to walk into the kitchen to see what’s cooking, or drop by the pool bar and mix themselves a drink. The philosophy of this place, barefoot luxury, equates freedom with luxury, making sure that every guests’ needs and wants are taken care of (free of charge, of course).

• If you’re aching to get into the pristine waters of General Luna, make sure that Nay Palad Hideaway’s Sea Pagoda is your first port of call. Whether you get there by boat, kayak or stand-up paddle, this imposing thatch-roofed platform sits 800 metres from the beach and is a picturesque staging point for snorkeling adventures. The gorgeous Sea Pagoda is perfect for anyone looking for that Instagram-worthy moment and for water adventurers looking to refuel on snacks and cold drinks.

• After a long day of frolicking in the pristine waters and soft white sandy beaches that surround Nay Palad Hideaway, why not enjoy a full range of world-class treatments at the resorts in-house spa. The resort’s spa therapists specialize in Hilot, a Filipino massage tradition acclaimed for its healing abilities. It is worth remembering that most massages are included in your room rate.

With close to 10 years in the travel industry, it's safe to say that I'm a travel addict.

Since my first flight at 8 months of age, I've travelled extensively through Europe, Asia, the South Pacific and part of North America. Some of the highlights were sleeping under the stars in the Wahiba Sands in Oman, snorkelling the Great Barrier Reef, walking on the Great Wall of China, climbing the Eiffel Tower, cruising from St Petersburg to Moscow, eating streetfood in Penang, exploring the Rocky Mountains in Canada and hanging loose in Hawaii.

I currently spend all my time putting together epic life-changing mastermind retreats or meticulously planning Luxury Tailor-made holidays around the world.
