Top Tips
• The Six Senses Con Dao is set on a remote island of the same name which is a little less developed and touristy as some of the other surrounding islands. Because of this, don’t expect to find any specific facilities geared towards international tourists. That being said, Six Senses was designed to imitate a traditional Vietnamese fishing village and has its own replica high street, arranged around a shop, restaurant and bar.
• The resort hotel is made up of 50 beautiful villas, all with private pools. All room decor is neutral with accents of natural textures: think linen sofas with bright cushions providing a little colour, hanging towel rails made of rope and white mosquito nets cascading around vast beds. While all rooms are equally well appointed and luxuriously minimalistic, previous guests have mentioned upgrading to an Ocean Front villa. These villas give you direct access to the beach via a private pathway down to the sand.
• While the hotel is more suited to couples and honeymooners, it does have a kids’ club and babysitting services. On top of that, there are child-friendly activities on offer such as flora and fauna arts and craft class and tee-shirt design workshop, beach games, yoga, meditation, Vietnamese language classes for children, “Little” chef experience and “Teen” chef experience. For activities the whole family can enjoy, the hotel can help arrange a charter a boat, a hike to the island high spots and, squid and fishing experiences, island historical and prison tours, island bike ride motorbike experiences, private snorkeling trip and seasonal turtle nesting and release experiences.
• If you or anyone you are travelling with has mobility issues, you’ll be happy to hear that the Six Senses Con Dao has facilities to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Not only does the resort offer wheelchair access throughout its grounds, it also has one tailored room for guests with disabilities. If you do require this room, it is worth making your booking well in advance to ensure its availability.
• After a long day of exploring the marine park or soaking up the sun on the island’s white sandy beaches, why not punctuate the day with a trip to the Six Senses Spa. Set with the dramatic backdrop of the Lo Voi Mountains and surrounded by tropical gardens, the spa offers four indoor treatment rooms, three outdoor treatment salas, a Yoga and Meditation Pavilion and Hammam Treatment.
