Arising like a mirage out of the still waters of Lake Pichola in Udaipur, India is the world’s most romantic hotel, Taj Lake Palace. Built in 1743 as a summer escape and pleasure resort by the royal dynasty of Mewar, this gorgeous palace was converted into a hotel in the 1960s. 1. It’s an understatement to say that all the rooms in Taj Lake Palace are luxurious. But that being said, if you have the money to burn definitely book one of the heritage suites, particularly a corner suite like the Chandra Prakash Suite (which was actually the first choice of the maharaja). Bonus tip: It goes without saying that you should definitely request a room with a lake and city view.
