Top Tips
• Villa 32 was made with exclusive tranquility in mind. That’s why the hotel is only made up of 5 rooms; Azure, Jade, Crystal, Matsu and Sakura. The first 3 are decorated in a European style with inviting broad sofas and floor-to-ceiling windows and a bathroom skylight. The other 2 rooms are inspired by the minimal onsen ryokans of Japan with their simple futons in the centre of the room. What these two Japanese-style rooms lack in contemporary furniture however, they make up for in having their very own in-room onsens. It is worth noting that because there are so few rooms at Villa 32, it is recommended to book your stay at least 2 weeks in advance.
• If you were hoping to visit Villa 32 with children in tow, it is worth noting that Villa 32 is an adult-only resort and only permit guests who are 16 years and over. So if you were hoping for a family hot-spring holiday, you might want to consider booking a stay at another hotel and enjoying the many public hot springs in the area.
• It is worth noting that the public hot spring areas are divided into male and female areas which would be exchanged every two weeks, and that electronic devices (such as phones and cameras) and clothing are absolutely prohibited. So if you’re uncomfortable with the concept of public nudity or you just want to enjoy your hot spring experience with your opposite-gender friend or partner, it is definitely worth booking one of Villa 32’s 5 private hot spring rooms (please note, however, that reservations are highly recommended and required).
• Besides appealing to the hot-spring enthusiasts among us, Villa 32 will also excite any wine aficionado with their extensive and impressive wine collection (a 1986 Chateau Mouton Rothschild being but one example of the vintage collection). The wine cellar at Villa 32 is reminiscent of a boutique wine museum, displaying rare collections from Bordeaux and Burgundy in France, and other world renown wineries. So, after a long day of relaxing in natural hot-spring water, why not spend the night tasting your way through this smorgasbord of champagne, white wines, red wines, sweet wines and vintage wines?
• To up the ante of relaxation, why not preface your visit to Villa 32’s hot-springs with a visit to the hotel’s onsite spa? Incorporating celebrity-favourite skin care, Dermalogica, with a blend of Chinese and European treatments, the customised and seasonal wellness programs and therapies provide the best care for both your body and your soul.
