Famous for playing host to Hollywood royalty for over a century, the Beverly Hills Hotel has become an institution for those looking to do some stargazing. Built in 1912, the “Pink Palace” made Beverly Hills the place that it is today by attracting wealthy people to the area, who loved the hotel so much they bought the surrounding empty plots of land to build their own homes. Being the home and getaway destination for many an a-lister over the years, the Beverly Hills Hotel has a knack for making every single one of its guests feel like a celebrity.
Top Tips
• In true Californian style, the Beverly Hills Hotel is decked out in pink and green motifs accented by luxurious bronze fixtures, buttery leather sofas and jewel toned furniture. This luxurious design is, of course, carried through to the nine room categories available at the Beverly Hills Hotel. While all the rooms are gorgeous and comfortable, guests have recommended going big and booking one of the 23 stand-alone bungalows scattered across the hotel grounds. If you’re looking to up the ante even more, book the more lavish bungalows for your own private pools and grand pianos.
• Even celebrities have children, that’s why the Beverly Hills Hotel offers the V-VIP programme for all children guests; this programme gives all children under 12 their very own V-VIP credit card to be used for complimentary sodas in the Fountain Coffee Room and Cabana Cafe. Wanting to make sure everyone feels like home, the hotel ensures that parents and their kids have all the comforts and facilities needed for a happy stay; these include children’s menus, kid-friendly swimming, babysitting on request and other children’s amenities like teddy bears and chocolate chip cookies.
• The Hollywood area is notoriously difficult to get around and navigate without a car. Lucky for guests of the Beverly Hills Hotel, they offer a complimentary transportation service within a three-mile (roughly 5 kilometres) radius of the hotel from 9am to 9pm every single day. So whether you’re heading out for a shopping excursion, a local meeting, or just need a ride to and from Beverly Hills Hotel’s sister property Hotel Bel Air, this service has got you cover.
• In true California fashion, The Beverly Hills Hotel offers its guests complimentary yoga classes every Saturday at 9.30am. Conducted by celebrated yoga instructor Amy Rose, each class lasts an hour and is made even better with fresh fruit, water, yoga mats and blocks. For those seeking a more private yoga session, the hotel’s yoga specialists offer a series of private and group yoga classes and meditation in the comfort of your room or a private space in the hotel.
• If you want to spend your day lounging poolside while people watching, the cabanas around the pool are up for grabs. Beware however, to rent a poolside cabana on the weekend costs roughly the same as an entry-level room for the night. While it may not be cheapest way to spend the weekend, the chance of possibly rubbing shoulders with Hollywood royalty may make it well worth the price.
