High above lake Lucerne and surrounded by the beautiful Swiss hillside, is the gorgeous Art Deco Hotel Montana. Having been awarded a multitude of awards in the last few years, guests can expect nothing less than an amazing service during their stay. To top off the amazing service is of course the views of the gorgeous surroundings that can be enjoyed from almost every room and corner of Hotel Montana.

Top Tips

1. Art Deco Hotel Montana offers a whopping 62 rooms and suites. While guests have a choice between a Lake view room or a Hillside room, many previous guests have recommended booking a room with a spectacular Lake view. If you want to up the ante, you should definitely book one of the six penthouse spa suites. With all this in mind, make sure to book your stay well in advance if you have your heart set on a lake view room as this hotel is incredibly popular throughout the year.

2. While the Lake views can be enjoyed from the Lake view rooms, if you are not lucky enough to have booked one don’t despair! Just head up to the hotel’s rooftop bar to enjoy the best views of the lake and the alps made even better with a side of cocktails.

3. If you’re a Scottish whiskey fan then you’re going to want to head to the hotel’s Louis Bar. There you’ll find the largest collection of Scottish whiskey to taste your way through in Central Switzerland. If you ever find yourself at Louis Bar on a Thursday evening, definitely stay for the legendary live jazz jam session.

4. To truly take in the amazing surroundings during your stay, take the world’s shortest funicular from the hotel lobby down to the lakeside promenade. From there take a leisurely stroll along the lakeside and to the famous flower-adorned Chapel Bridge.

5. No trip to Lucerne is complete without a boat tour of Lucerne Lake. Catch one of the boats that leave from the pier opposite the train station. While on the boat tour, make sure to get a seat on the top deck to truly take in the views of the calm waters and the alpine backdrop. If you are feeling especially adventurous, buy a one way ticket to one of the pretty towns on the lake and hike back.

Since my first flight at 8 months of age, I've travelled extensively through Europe, Asia, the South Pacific and part of North America. Some of the highlights were sleeping under the stars in the Wahiba Sands in Oman, snorkelling the Great Barrier Reef, walking on the Great Wall of China, climbing the Eiffel Tower, cruising from St Petersburg to Moscow, eating streetfood in Penang, exploring the Rocky Mountains in Canada and hanging loose in Hawaii.

I currently spend all my time putting together epic life-changing mastermind retreats or meticulously planning Luxury Tailor-made holidays around the world.
