Nestled amongst the rolling hills and jagged mountains of the Bernese Alps is the all-inclusive, luxuriously plush, alpine oasis that is Huus Gstaad. A perfect combination of alpine hut and luxury design hotel, Huus Gstaad marries welcoming cosiness with all the 5 star comforts you seek after a long day of exploring Switzerland’s Alpine region. With its attentive and cheerful staff, delicious food and cosy spaces, Huus Gstaad will quickly become your favourite place on earth and a home away from home.

Top tips

1. While all the rooms of Huus Gstaad are incredibly well-appointed and luxuriously cosy, many previous guests have suggested requesting one of the rooms away from the road for reduced noise and incredible views. If for some reason you get the rooms facing the room, don’t despair as all 136 rooms are fitted with the world’s best, Swedish-made beds.

2. If you’re ever lucky enough to stay at Huus Gstaad, it’s best to keep in mind that there is not much you can reach around the alpine resort by foot. Lucky for you, however, there are a myriad of transportation options surrounding you; there is a public bus stop at the hotel, a ski shuttle, and three train stations nearby (Gstaad, Saanen and Schönried). But if public transport is not your style, make sure to utilise the hotel’s complimentary (yes, complimentary) Range Rover rentals.

3. If you’re planning a romantic couple’s getaway to Huus Gstaad, keep in mind that the hotel is extremely family-friendly. If you book your stay during peak season, you’re going to be sharing the hotel and its amenities with families and young children. While the main attraction of Huus Gstaad is the snow and its corresponding activities, it’s still incredibly beautiful during low seasons. So if you want to still enjoy the hotel, definitely consider booking your stay during those months.

4. It’s worth mentioning that there is no in-room mini bar or room service available, but that being said, the open-access policy at Huus Gstaad means that the mountain-view restaurant never closes and more importantly, food is available around the clock. However, the location being Switzerland means that food prices are of course quite high. So, if you find yourself in the nearby town/village, make it a point to stock up on snack foods to bring back to your room.

5. It’s an understatement to say that Huus Gstaad is an Alpine adventurer’s paradise especially considering that the Alpine Centre is in the hotel, and mountain biking, e-biking, rafting, rock climbing and hikes with a local guides are all included in the room rates. That being said, if you’re tired of exploring, hit up the in-house Finnish sauna and enjoy the warm steam made better with panoramic views of the blossoming gardens below and the magnificent mountains beyond.

With close to 10 years in the travel industry, it's safe to say that I'm a travel addict.

Since my first flight at 8 months of age, I've travelled extensively through Europe, Asia, the South Pacific and part of North America. Some of the highlights were sleeping under the stars in the Wahiba Sands in Oman, snorkelling the Great Barrier Reef, walking on the Great Wall of China, climbing the Eiffel Tower, cruising from St Petersburg to Moscow, eating streetfood in Penang, exploring the Rocky Mountains in Canada and hanging loose in Hawaii.

I currently spend all my time putting together epic life-changing mastermind retreats or meticulously planning Luxury Tailor-made holidays around the world.
