On the banks of Salzach River and in the Old Town of Salzburg (also known as Mozart’s birthplace), is the historic and majestic Hotel Sacher. Established in 1866 and housing a whopping 111 immaculately designed rooms and suites, Hotel Sacher has hosted some of the world’s finest musicians alongside royalty, international statesmen, business people, artists and global celebrities. Hotel Sacher is run with the single goal to make each and every one of their guests feel like royalty and to make Hotel Sacher their home away from home.

Top tips

1.  While all the rooms and suites of Hotel Sacher are luxuriously designed and equally well appointed, previous guests have recommended booking a river view room for obvious reasons. Guests have also stated that the river views get better the higher up your room is. While all the attention seems to be on the river view rooms, some guests have stated that the rooms facing the road are equally as lovely and not as noisy as one would think they are (you may also get a view of Hohensalzburg Fortress). Pro tip: Hotel Sacher is currently undergoing some renovations. It is recommended that you book your stay after Easter 2018 when the renovations are scheduled to be complete.

2. If you or anyone you are travelling with has mobility issues, it needs to be noted that there is only one wheelchair-accessible suite. If you need to book this suite, it is definitely worth checking the suite’s availability with the hotel before making any arrangements.

3. The staff at Hotel Sacher live to please. This means that they will go above and beyond to provide you with everything you want and need. Because Hotel Sacher is of such a high calibre, the staff even have connections to give guests access to all the best culture, restaurants, shopping and sights. They can even get you access to the most sought-after tickets and tables in Salzburg. So don’t be afraid to ask the staff for help with anything you need, they will be happy to help.

4. The location of Hotel Sacher means that you have the whole of Salzburg and all its attractions at your front door. For example, the famous Mirabell gardens are just a 5 minute walk away, Mozart-Wohnhaus (a museum housed in Mozart’s old home) is just a 2 minute walk away, Mozart’s Birthplace is just a 5 minute walk away, and the Salzburg Museum is just a 10 minute walk away.

5. If you’re after some refreshments after a long day of exploring Salzburg by foot, look no further than the hotel’s Cafe Sacher. Here you’ll be able to relax, unwind, and enjoy a little coffee and cake. We hear that the famous Sacher-Torte chocolate cake created by Franz Sacher in 1832 lives up to the hype.

With close to 10 years in the travel industry, it's safe to say that I'm a travel addict.

Since my first flight at 8 months of age, I've travelled extensively through Europe, Asia, the South Pacific and part of North America. Some of the highlights were sleeping under the stars in the Wahiba Sands in Oman, snorkelling the Great Barrier Reef, walking on the Great Wall of China, climbing the Eiffel Tower, cruising from St Petersburg to Moscow, eating streetfood in Penang, exploring the Rocky Mountains in Canada and hanging loose in Hawaii.

I currently spend all my time putting together epic life-changing mastermind retreats or meticulously planning Luxury Tailor-made holidays around the world.
