If you have ever wanted to live it up as Moroccan royalty, the Royal Mansour Marrakech may just help you do that. Style and character aren’t the only things that Royal Mansour Marrakech has going for it, being located on the eastern edge of the medina between the historic centre and the Ville Nouvelle, this royal hotel puts you in the perfect position to explore greater Marrakech.
Top Tips
• The Royal Mansour Marrakech houses 53 private villas that have 1 bedroom, 2 bedrooms, or 3 bedrooms. Each two-storey villa is self contained (each with its own sun roof terrace and private plunge pool), allowing you to live, swim, eat and sleep in total privacy. All the villas (or riads, as they are referred to) are impeccably designed and amazingly equipped with everything you’d expect of a hotel of this calibre. That being said, previous guests have recommended booking a riad away from the pool area for optimum quiet and privacy.
• All riads at the Royal Mansour Marrakech are two-storeys and have stairs, so if you or anyone you are travelling with have mobility issues, it is worth mentioning that to the hotel staff when you’re making a booking. The hotel staff will ensure your ease and comfort by placing you in one of the many riads around the “medina” that are equipped with a lift.
• Built to represent a miniature city, the Royal Mansour Marrakech houses three restaurants, a tea lounge, two bars and a fumoir (that’s a liquor and cigar bar). Of the three, there is one “informal” option (La Table; a vibrant mediterranean restaurant offering an all-day menu), one French inspired (La Grande Table Francaise; a romantic French restaurant offering creative, structured and modern gastronomic fare), and one Moroccan (La Grande Table Marocaine; a contemporary restaurant offering a menu based upon traditional Moroccan gastronomy and ingredients). Guests are also welcome to enjoy Chef Alléno's seafood extravaganza by the pools of Le Jardin.
• Even though the leafy surrounds of Royal Mansour Marrakech would make one feel like they were in some far-away oasis, it’s actually in prime position to explore the rest of Marrakech. Being between the historic centre and the Ville Nouvelle (the new town of Marrakech), you are so close to some of the city’s most famous landmarks; A mere five-minute taxi ride will leave you at the doorstep of the Djemaa el Fna or at nearby restaurants and shops in the new town.
• After a long day of exploring the souk and indulging in escargot and sweet mint tea at Djemaa el Fna, what could be a better way to wind down than with a sumptuous spa retreat. Lucky for you, the Royal Mansour Marrakech has an in house spa ready to massage and hammam your worries away. Fit for royalty, the spa is spread over three floors and features 3 private spa suites, 18 treatment rooms, 2 traditional Moroccan hammams, a Hair and Barber Salon, an indoor swimming pool, a sauna, a fitness and private fitness studio, a lifestyle boutique, a herbal tea bar, a library and spa restaurant serving light, nutritious refreshments and meals; literally everything you’d ever need and want.
