Through narrow roads amongst sprawling rice fields in Ubud lies the low key eco oasis that is Sandat Glamping Tents. Being surrounded by the sights, smells, and sounds of nature, it’s easy to forget just how close you are to the artisan town of Ubud. This resort was built for those who are enticed by the idea of camping but still love the luxuries of a resort stay.
Top tip
• While this hotel prides itself on the “glamping” experience, keep in mind that it is still technically camping. While Sandat has put every effort into keeping insects and geckos out of your tent, don’t be surprised if you can hear them very clearly through the thin canvas walls.
• Keep the Bali heat at bay by booking a tent that has its very own private plunge pool. Keep in mind, the pool will be very cool as most pools in Bali are not heated.
• Sandat offers a free on-demand shuttle service for guests who wish to explore the town of Ubud. Make sure to request your shuttle at least 30 minutes before you wish to depart.
• The food options at the in-house restaurant can get quite repetitive so if you’re planning on staying for a few days it would be a good idea to stock up on some snacks from the grocery stores in Ubud.
• The beds tend to be on the harder side so if you prefer a more softer night’s sleep, request for a bed cushion to be added on top of your mattress.
• Because Sandat is situated amongst paddy fields and the jungle, it would be wise to bring along mosquito/bug repellant.
