Aptly named A Room With A View, each of the 9 rooms in this boutique hotel has at least a partial sea view. Set right next to the Palace Pier, this hotel is the perfect place for anyone to enjoy the Marine Parade, the Brighton seafront, and the pier. While its small size ensures an air of exclusivity, A Room With A View is the furthest thing from pretension as the heart of this hotel lies in its extremely friendly service. Run by both the loyal staff and the dedicated owner, no request feels like too much trouble. So if you’re looking to enjoy the English seaside in your own luxurious Grade II-listed Georgian townhouse hideaway, then this is the one for you.
Top Tips
1. All the rooms at Room With A View are uniquely designed but are all equally well-appointed. With that in mind, many guests have suggested trying to book the roof terrace to enjoy seafront and Marine Parade views from your own private balcony. If you’re looking for more generous living space, however, previous guests have recommended booking the first floor sea-facing room.
2. While most previous guests have recommended booking rooms on higher floors, it is worth noting that the only way to access those rooms are via stairs. In addition to that, access to the hotel require climbing a few steps and none of the rooms are adaptable for guests with mobility issues.
3. Before you book your stay at A Room With A View, it is worth noting that the hotel’s policy requires you to stay a minimum of 2 nights if you stay in the summer or if your stay includes a Saturday. It is a minimum of 3 nights stay if you book during bank holidays or major Brighton events. It’s recommended that you call up the hotel and ask them about their policy before you book your stay.
4. While there is no in-house restaurant at A Room With A View, breakfast is still served at the hotel with a full breakfast buffet and a selection between a traditional full English breakfast or smoked salmon and eggs. Lunch and dinner, however, are just a short stroll away either in Kemp Town or in the Lanes area.
5. On the off chance that you’re sick of the sun and the sea, Brighton is a shopper’s paradise with many up-and-coming areas offering a myriad of independent boutiques and shops. The Lanes area is known for its designer boutiques, antique shops, and specialist retailers, North Laine is the largest independent shopping area, and Kemp Town is famous for its flea market. So whatever your heart desires, get ready to shop till you drop.
