Top Tips
- Apple Apartments is a serviced style accommodation meaning that the service is less involved than a traditional full-service hotel. While the units are serviced/cleaned daily, you shouldn’t expect too much human contact. From the get-go there’s an anonymous doorway with a code entry and lockboxes for individual keys. Don’t worry however, if you do run into trouble there is a telephone number you can call when and if you need help.
- While all the units are equally well appointed and beautifully designed, previous guests of Apple Apartments have suggested requesting a unit towards the rear of the building. The reason being that these units tended to be much quieter than the ones that face the main street. Guests have also mentioned that the units that are on the higher floors offer spectacular panoramic views of the city.
- With all the amazing restaurants that are at your doorstep, it is easy to get carried away and go to a restaurant for every meal. However, if you’re looking to watch your budget during your stay in Edinburgh, make full use of the kitchen in your unit (which comes stocked with milk, bottled water, coffee, tea, shortbread and apples). Pro tip: stock up on groceries at the nearby supermarket and have a few meals at home to make sure you don’t blow your holiday budget.
- The Apple Apartments are the perfect home base for anyone looking to explore literally everything that Edinburgh has to offer, not only are you close to shops and restaurants, you’re only walking distance to many of the cities greatest attractions. You’re a 6 minute walk to the Scottish National Gallery, a 5 minute walk to St Andrew Square, an 11 minute walk to the Edinburgh Gin Distillery, and a 13 minute walk to Calton Hill.
- From centuries old building to modern structures, Edinburgh is the perfect city for any architecture buff. A few notable buildings worth visiting in Edinburgh include the Edinburgh Castle, Adam House, George Heriot’s School, St Giles Cathedral, Holyrood Palace, and the Scottish Parliament Building. Pro tip: pack your walking shoes and plan out a day of exploring or leave it to the professionals and join a free walking tour (there are plenty).
