The symbolic French boutique hotel, COQ: Community of Quality, is placed discreetly near the Place d’Italie square, in Haussmannian building. It describes very well “the spirit of a Parisian home”. A masterpiece of classy décor with plenty of style. Most of the interior is furnished with Scandinavian chairs and vintage lamps. The café-style dining area alters into a relaxed lounge, where films are screened in the evening. Assorted vases, glass-roofed conservatory with books and a cascade of plants adds a jungle touch. The rooms are compact yet well thought out, having custom designed furniture and good reading lamps inserted in the walls. It is not superbly close to the main attractions in Paris but quite easily accessible through metro, which is only 2 minutes’ walk away.

Top Tips

• An extremely high quality breakfast of home grown products is served and is pretty expensive with limited choice for 13.50 Euros. The brunch is only available on Sunday and costs 25 Euros.

• A wide range of restaurants can be found within the walking distance of the restaurant for a price that doesn’t break the bank.

• The rooms although very good but small even for Paris. They are designed with the modern traveller in mind. They have different aesthetics that expertly mix new and vintage designs. So if you appreciate the quality over the quantity, the size of the rooms will not bother you at all.

• The hotel is situated a bit away from all the city sights in Paris. The hotel is not the most centrally located but it is only a two-minute walk away from an M7 stop, which is most convenient.

• They don’t enough accessible electrical outlets for electronic devices, in room or reception, so if you are travelling from another country you need to buy one for yourself that would actually work there.

• You might find an electrical outlet behind the furniture.

• While they did a good job with the interior decor, the architectural plan lacks: the walls are paper thin, so expect to find out about your neighbours’ snoring, and sometimes falling asleep is a bit of an ordeal.

With close to 10 years in the travel industry, it's safe to say that I'm a travel addict.

Since my first flight at 8 months of age, I've travelled extensively through Europe, Asia, the South Pacific and part of North America. Some of the highlights were sleeping under the stars in the Wahiba Sands in Oman, snorkelling the Great Barrier Reef, walking on the Great Wall of China, climbing the Eiffel Tower, cruising from St Petersburg to Moscow, eating streetfood in Penang, exploring the Rocky Mountains in Canada and hanging loose in Hawaii.

I currently spend all my time putting together epic life-changing mastermind retreats or meticulously planning Luxury Tailor-made holidays around the world.
