Set in a 19th-century private mansion in the heart of Bordeaux's historic centre, is the luxuriously quirky Yndō Hotel. Influenced by a stylish mix of designers, artists and interior specialists, Yndō promises you a completely original experience, combining fun contemporary style with warm hospitality. With each of their 12 rooms offering an incomparable environment and atmosphere, Yndō Hotel really is your cocoon of luxury.

Top Tips

1. While all the rooms are all well-appointed and have a style that is truly unique, many previous guests have recommended booking the Crazy Room. As its name suggests, this room is one of the most eccentrically decorated rooms of the hotel and as a result, offers the most “wow” factor. For an even more luxuriously quirky experience, splurge on either the So Chic Suite or the Yndō Suite.

2. Because the hotel is incredibly popular at any time of year, the 12 bedrooms book out quite quickly. So to avoid disappointment, make sure to book your stay at Yndō Hotel well in advance; especially if you have a specific room in mind.

3. You’re spoilt for choice when it comes to getting around Bordeaux during your stay. Not only does the hotel have on-site parking facilities for you to bring your own car, they also offer bicycle rentals at no additional cost! On top of all that, Yndō is only a 10 minute walk to the closest tram stop and a few minute’s walk to Bordeaux’s Golden Triangle.

4. To really get to know the town of Bordeaux before stepping a foot out the door, make sure to refer to your in-room iPad as it has an extensive list of recommendations for activities like wine excursions, city tours, and seaside walks. For even more detailed suggestions, feel free to ask the hotel’s staff for their recommendations.

5. There is no fully serviced restaurant at Yndō. While they do offer light meals and an exciting wine list throughout the day, use this opportunity to explore the surrounding local eateries (the food will likely also be cheaper than the meals at Yndō).

With close to 10 years in the travel industry, it's safe to say that I'm a travel addict.

Since my first flight at 8 months of age, I've travelled extensively through Europe, Asia, the South Pacific and part of North America. Some of the highlights were sleeping under the stars in the Wahiba Sands in Oman, snorkelling the Great Barrier Reef, walking on the Great Wall of China, climbing the Eiffel Tower, cruising from St Petersburg to Moscow, eating streetfood in Penang, exploring the Rocky Mountains in Canada and hanging loose in Hawaii.

I currently spend all my time putting together epic life-changing mastermind retreats or meticulously planning Luxury Tailor-made holidays around the world.
