Set within twenty five restored canal houses from the 17th and 18th century and located in the ever vibrant Nine Streets neighbourhood, Hotel Pulitzer is the perfect place to soak in Amsterdam’s unique and unforgettable energy. Being right in the heart of Amsterdam, this hotel offers visitors easy access to all its wonders like the Floating Flower Market, Dam Square, Anne Frank House, and the Royal Palace.

Top Tips

1. Because Hotel Pulitzer consists of basically a whole neighbourhood of converted houses, there is a very large variety of rooms and suites to choose from and as a result, there will definitely be a room or suite that will fit your needs. While many of the previous guests highly recommend booking canal-view rooms, these rooms do come at a higher rate than the courtyard-view rooms. So if budget is a concern, definitely book a courtyard-view room which (according to previous guests) is just as lovely.

2. There are multiple ways (at multiple price points) to get from the airport to Hotel Pulitzer. Depending on your budget, you could either hire a luxury car and personal driver from the hotel, grab a taxi that will cost you around €45, take a €4 train ride to Amsterdam Centraal and take a €15 cab ride or tram ride from there, or take an airport shuttle for only €17 per person. Transport is essentially a breeze because the hotel is in such a central location.

3. Amsterdam is well known for its canals so definitely take advantage of the 75 minute canal cruise offered by Hotel Pulitzer. The daily cruises are run on the hotel’s very own classic salon boat from 1909. Apart from the boat being absolutely gorgeous with polished teak and brass, traditional carpeting, marble, leather and beveled glass, it was also ridden by Winston Churchill in 1946. Each cruise costs €39 per person.

4. If you’re new to Amsterdam, Hotel Pulitzer is your perfect homebase to discover it, as it is at a walkable distance to almost all of the city’s main attractions. It is only a 4 minute walk to Anne Frank House, an 11 minute walk to Dam Square, a 15 minute walk to the Floating Flower Market, and an 8 minute walk to the Royal Amsterdam Palace.

5. If you’re an Ocean’s 12 fan, you’ll be excited to know that Hotel Pulitzer was featured in the Hollywood smash and is actually one of the many sights that die-hard Ocean’s 12 fans come to see in Amsterdam. If that’s not enough to get to you come to Hotel Pulitzer, maybe the fact that it has earned a spot in the book, ‘1000 Places to See Before You Die’ will entice you.

Since my first flight at 8 months of age, I've travelled extensively through Europe, Asia, the South Pacific and part of North America. Some of the highlights were sleeping under the stars in the Wahiba Sands in Oman, snorkelling the Great Barrier Reef, walking on the Great Wall of China, climbing the Eiffel Tower, cruising from St Petersburg to Moscow, eating streetfood in Penang, exploring the Rocky Mountains in Canada and hanging loose in Hawaii.

I currently spend all my time putting together epic life-changing mastermind retreats or meticulously planning Luxury Tailor-made holidays around the world.
