Top Tips
• While the majority of Chaos Hotel’s rooms are housed in a repurposed 5 storey building, they also offer penthouse suites and a large apartment that are located above the Fahrenheit 88 mall. Previous guests have mentioned that the rooms within the 5 storey building tend to be on the smaller side, so if you’re travelling as a family or with a large group of people, it’s worth booking either the penthouse suite or the apartment. For those that choose the standard rooms, be prepared for smaller living quarters and a little bit of street noise (you are in the beating heart of Kuala Lumpur, after all). Pro tip: if you’re an extremely light sleeper, bring a pair of earplugs and a sleeping mask.
• It is worth noting that guests of Chaos Hotel who are not Malaysian citizens or long term/permanent residents of Malaysia will be charged a tourism tax of RM 10 per room per night stay.
• If you’re a shopaholic or a night owl, you’ll be happy to hear that Chaos Hotel is within an easy walking distance to the city´s interesting nightlife, restaurants, shops, cultural attractions, and other points of interest in the city centre. Notable nearby attractions include the iconic Kuala Lumpur City Centre, the fashionable Pavillion Mall, the hectic nightlife in Changkat Bukit Bintang, and family fun in Aquaria KLCC.
• Getting to Chaos Hotel is incredibly easy. For those travelling light and on a budget, you can hop onto the KLIA Express (ERL) which is a non-stop airport transfer train that takes you from Kuala Lumpur International Airports (KLIA|KLIA2) to the city (KL Sentral) in just 28 minutes. From KL Sentral, you can take the monorail to the Bukit Bintang station and from there, the hotel is just a 5 minute walk away. If you are travelling with children or a lot of luggage however, we suggest taking a taxi from KL Sentral to the hotel. For those with cash to splash or who can’t be bothered with public transport, the most convenient way to get to the hotel via an airport or hotel limousine. Fare from the airport to the hotel is approximately RM 85 for a 4 passenger taxi and you will be taken directly to the hotel.
• The best way to get around Kuala Lumpur from such a central location is via public transport. For those looking for a more convenient way to get around without having to constantly line up for tickets, we recommend purchasing a Touch ‘n Go card. Not only does Touch ‘n Go provide a convenient cashless system to those who commute daily by KTM, LRT, Monorail and Rapid KL buses, it can also be used to to pay for a variety of goods and services as well as to access great offers and discounts. Pro tip: purchase your Touch n’ Go at any station or 7-eleven and top it up with as much money as you require (note: balance credit on the Touch n’ Go is not refundable).
