Top Tips
• Lizard Island Resort houses 40 rooms, including 18 suites and 15 villas. While all the rooms are equally well-appointed and immaculately fitted, previous guests have recommended booking into one of the one of the Beachfront Suites as these suites offer an expansive balcony offering breathtaking views of the tranquil turquoise waters of Anchor Bay and Sunset Beach, and a path straight from balcony to beach. While the Garden View rooms are the most suitable for families, previous guests have recommended honeymooners splash some cash and get the Pavillion as this top-end room is secluded, luxurious and boast sweeping beach views, a wraparound sun-deck, a private plunge pool, and a butler’s kitchen (and private chef on request). Pro tip: Lizard Island Resort has a 2-night minimum stay policy.
• While children above the age of 10 are welcome to the resort, according to review sites, Families with children are welcomed only during two fortnight-long periods of the year that coincides with the Australian school holidays. So if you’re planning a family getaway to Lizard Island Resort, make sure to coincide with these dates which are usually the first two weeks of July and from the last week of September and first week of October. Pro tip: make sure to call the resort ahead of time to ensure you book in the right period of time.
• To get to Lizard Island Resort you’ll first have to make your way to Cairns Airport which services international and domestic carriers.. From Cairns you will have to take a one-hour transfer flight to Lizard Island operated by East Air. Keep in mind that return flights to and from the island are from AU$700 a person. You can get to the terminal from either the international or domestic terminals via a free shared shuttle is available for resort guests. Daily scheduled flights depart Cairns for Lizard Island at 11am and 2pm; and flights depart Lizard Island for Cairns at 12.30pm and 3.25pm.
• Lizard Island Resort is the only hotel on the Great Barrier Reef, so it’s safe to say that there are a myriad of water-based activities to choose from. The more adventurous and experienced divers amongst us can also book half- or full-day dive trips on the resort’s boat to dozens of world-class scuba sites, including the famed Cod Hole, where you can hand-feed colossal potato cod.
• After a long day of exploring the Great Barrier Reef, why not get pampered to oblivion at the resort’s in-house spa. From massage, to special treatments for the face, hands, feet and body as well as water therapy and Essentia Signature Treatments, you will emerge from the sanctity of Essentia, feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.

With close to 10 years in the travel industry, it's safe to say that I'm a travel addict.

Since my first flight at 8 months of age, I've travelled extensively through Europe, Asia, the South Pacific and part of North America. Some of the highlights were sleeping under the stars in the Wahiba Sands in Oman, snorkelling the Great Barrier Reef, walking on the Great Wall of China, climbing the Eiffel Tower, cruising from St Petersburg to Moscow, eating streetfood in Penang, exploring the Rocky Mountains in Canada and hanging loose in Hawaii.

I currently spend all my time putting together epic life-changing mastermind retreats or meticulously planning Luxury Tailor-made holidays around the world.
